Mise-en-Scene

Mise-en-Scene-

During media studies I learned about Mise-en-Scene. To keep it short, mise-en-scene is the overall look and feel of a movie. All movies need to have these components: lighting, composition, design, kinesis, costumes, costumes, makeup. Mise-en-scene literally means staging or putting on an action act.

Design- the process by which the setting is determined. Design is the look of the setting, props, lighting, and actors which are the main components of design. Design helps express a movies vision and creates a convincing sense of time, space, and mood.

Composition-The organization, distribution, balance, and general, relationship of actors and objects. It is part of the process of visualizing, and planning the look of a movie. as a film maker visualize and plan each shot they must remember these two aspects of compositions, framing, and kinesis.

-framing is what we see on the screen

-Kinesis is what moves the screen

Application-

With everything I learned about mise-en-scene, I was able to complete a mini photography project. In the project I used the components of mise-en-scene. the lighting, props, and shots.

Reflection-
I've learned the mise-en-scene is very important. All films need it no matter what. Ialso learned that each element that goes into mise-en-scene is just as important.
