Types of Genre

Genre-

For a couple of weeks we have been learning about different movies and genres. Genre is -to keep it simple- a category of film. We learned about the different genres like romance, comedy , horror, sci-fi, etc. and how they help the composition of movies and television shows. To be completely honest, researching genre was a lot easier than I thought it would be. It was fun.

Examples-

Comedy-Creates a humorous atmosphere. Used to make you laugh.

Horror Comedy- A Literary, television, and film genre that combines both horror and comedy to create, horror-comedy.

Crime- A genre where characters investigate crimes or murder. They follow clues that lead to the villain.

Sci-fi- A form of fiction that deals principally with the impact of actual or imagined science upon society or individuals.

Horror- A suspenseful plot driven story.

What I did with the information

While learning about the different types of genres, we were told to make a power point about the genre of our our choice. My group chose Horror-Comedy. Using the research we had, we made the power point. It had the definition of horror comedy, the history, and an analysis of the genre. I was the one who did the history part of the project.
